Renata began taking piano lessons at the age of six at the Conservatory of Music in Kitchener, and violin at the age of ten.
She studied piano, theory and music history with Dr. Glenn Kruspe, and violin with Voldemar Lasmanis, prior to completing her musical studies through the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. She attended the University of Waterloo where she majored in languages.
Renata has taught privately in the Kitchener-Waterloo area since 1985, and has successfully coached many students through the Royal Conservatory of Music Examination program. She is actively involved in the musical community as an accompanist for the Kiwanis Music Festival, student recitals and festivals each year.
Since 1982 Renata has been a violinist with the K-W Community Orchestra, more recently as assistant concertmaster, and has been part of many chamber groups, quartets, duets and as soloist, playing for weddings and chamber music concerts. She has participated in workshops held at the Grand River Baroque Festival, played with the Orchestra@ UWaterloo, the Conrad Grebel String Ensemble and in Benton’s Christmas Festival Orchestra for the past twelve years.
Renata considers it a privilege to share her love of music, and mentor her students as they develop their skills.
