Tawnya Moore

Flute

Tawnya Moore is an accomplished freelance soloist and chamber musician, who has traveled throughout Canada, England, and the United States, studying and performing. A native of Halifax Nova Scotia, completed her studies in music performance at Wilfrid Laurier University. Upon graduating, Tawnya went on to study and perform in masterclasses for world-renowned artists, such as Ian Clarke, Michel Debost, Paul Edmund-Davies, Peter Lloyd, Greg Pattillo, and Clare Southworth. Her premiere concerto performance was with the University of Prince Edward Island in 2001, performing ‘Concertino’ by Cecile Chaminade. In 2008, Tawnya performed Charles Griffes Flute Concerto ‘Poem’ with Wellington Wind Ensemble. In 2011 she performed the Salieri, a double concerto for flute and oboe with the Cambridge Community Orchestra. Later in the spring of 2011, she performed the J.S. Bach Orchestral Suite No. 2 with the Waterloo Chamber Players. Tawnya maintains an active teaching studio and performing schedule. She also volunteers her time at several schools, conducting flute ensembles and teaching group flute lessons. Tawnya loves being a mother of her two active boys, (ages 6 and 7) and she has been married to her loving husband for eight years.
