Emma Dawson is currently completing her Honours Bachelor’s degree in music at Wilfrid Laurier University. She is completing a double concentration in music education and trumpet performance where she studies under Guy Few.
Music has always been a huge part of Emma’s life, from joining a choir and studying theory as young as five years old to finding her passion for brass at eight when they began playing in elementary school. Emma was the president of her music council in high school, arranging additional concerts for various ensembles at retirement homes during Christmas time and coordinating fundraisers for the arts programs at their school. Emma now is the president of Laurier Brass Ensemble where she leads the club to hold successful concerts and socials. Emma’s involvement in music and musical ensembles has stretched deeply. She was a part of the Guelph Youth Orchestra, joined community theatre groups to play trumpet for Matilda the musical, and has volunteered at the Interprovincial Music Camp to name a few. Emma has a passion for teaching, with more than 5 years of tutoring experience even before the completion of her undergraduate degree. She loves music, and loves teaching extensively. |
