|
Tim Eddy has been an eclectic musician for years inspired by many different genres from classical, jazz, film, folk, and musical theatre. He is well-rounded as a classically trained pianist, talented singer, amateur guitarist, and a composer. Tim loves to bring music to life for his students and provide a holistic education experience, dipping his toes into piano technique, theory, and musicality.
Tim is passionate about music as well as mental and spiritual health as it relates to music. He finished his Master of Music Therapy in December 2020 at Wilfrid Laurier University and he is now a certified music therapist and qualifying registered psychotherapist. He has experience using verbal counseling techniques and the use of music clinically at nursing homes, with women in prison, and children with developmental disabilities. Tim received his Honours Bachelor of Music at Wilfrid Laurier University with a major in composition and a minor in psychology. For his undergrad capstone he gave a lecture-recital exploring self-care in music, which featured his own compositions as well as the works of Scriabin, Chopin and Mompou. His graduating composition was a 30-minute opera for one singer and seven instrumentalists. The piece tells the story of a woman with depression whose dreams were transpiring as the fairy-tale “the Little Match Girl”. Tim is currently finishing his diploma in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy at Martin Luther Seminary. He enjoys listening to audiobooks on hikes and bringing his guitar out while camping. Tim joined the Sound Factory team in December of 2021.. |
