Caitlin Taylor is a well-rounded pianist, who is driven to share her passion for music with others. She is classically trained on the piano, through the Royal Conservatory of Music, eventually leading her to expand her interests in different genres like soft rock, pop, film, and musical theatre. Caitlin is a firm believer that creative musicianship can be fostered in many ways. She goes beyond teaching traditional sight reading and ear training skills to encourage improvisation, composition, and recreating pre-composed music to support her students’ confidence in their learning and creativity.
Caitlin began her university degree through the Community Music program at Wilfrid Laurier University and has recently completed her Bachelor of Music Therapy in 2022. She continued her RCM 10 piano and theory studies under professors Jason White and Colin Labadie during her degree. Her expansive education has enabled her to understand and adapt her teaching to accommodate learning and cognitive needs, including those of individuals on the Autism Spectrum, with Parkinson’s, and various other physical disabilities. Caitlin has been building her pedagogical material and teaching piano since 2016, supporting her students through RCM examinations, recitals, local competitions, and other musical aspirations. She has taught with accomplished musicians, including Alex Spencer from Juno award-winning band, Dizzy. Caitlin is currently continuing her education in Masters of Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy at Martin Luther Seminary and completing her MTA qualifications to support her music therapy practice. |
Caitlin would love to meet you! Let's get started.
