Darius McKinley has a groove a mile deep. The son of a professional musician and pioneer of the local music schene, Darius has been a working performer since his early teens. He has carved out a reputation as one of the region's finest and most respected session musicians and one of the most sought after bassists around.
A past member of several notable groups in the Kitchener/Waterloo scene including the Mike Erb Band, Sweetfire, Lumberjunk, and the John McKinley Band, Darius has extensively toured Canada and the United States, and can regularly be seen on stage all over the province and beyond. He is a prolific studio musician and arranger with hundreds of recording credits to his name, and has played in support of dozens of artists and acts across a variety of genres. His thoughtful playing and technical skill along with deep-rooted musicality, and love for playing have collectively made Darius one of our most popular and successful teachers. He has taught at the Sound Factory Music School since 2006.
