Jamie is an experienced piano instructor with a passion for music and teaching. With over seven years of teaching experience in Canada and the United States, Jamie has honed her skills in providing practical and personalized lessons.
Born in Taiwan and residing in Canada, Jamie's journey in music began at the age of five when she started playing the piano. She pursued her education in the United States, graduating from California State University in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in music education specializing in classical piano. During her undergraduate years, Jamie studied under Professor Dr. Polli Chambers-Salazar and Dr. Stephen Moore. She also had the privilege of performing at the New York Carnegie Hall with the El Camino College choir, directed by Dr. Joanna M. Nachef. In 2021, Jamie furthered her education by obtaining a Masters's Degree in Education from the University of Prince Edward Island. Her expertise allows her to create customized lesson plans tailored to each student's learning style and goals. Jamie is able to prepare students from beginner to advanced levels of the Royal Conservatory of Music Exams (RCM). Jamie is bilingual, fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, making her able to connect with students from different cultural backgrounds. As a dedicated educator, Jamie conducts regular progress assessments and provides constructive feedback to help her students identify areas for improvement and achieve their musical aspirations. Teaching and playing the piano are not just a hobby or career for Jamie; it is an integral part of her everyday life.
