Stephen Todd is a native of Lisburn, Northern Ireland and a founding member of the popular Celtic group "Failte". A former teacher with the Waterloo public school board for 25 years, he has played the bodhran since 1991. Stephen is a familiar face in the Ontario Celtic/Traditional music community and regular session player. He has recorded a number of studio and live albums as the singer/percussionist of Failte, and is a regular contributor to recordings and performances from some of the areas most notable Celtic and folk artists. He has also played on stage with such internationally renowned artists as the Chieftains, the late John Allan Cameron, and tenor Michael Burgess, to name a few. In addition to bodhran, Stephen plays tin whistle, harmonica, guitar, and drums, which he plays in his newest group "Thorne 'n' The Sides", who have completed their second studio album, and is collaborating on a new Celtic trio, "The Ramblin' Rovers".
Stephen has a deep love of the music of his homeland, and an overall passion for music and performing. If you can tap a beat with your fingers on a table, Stephen can teach you how to play the bodhran and have fun at the same time! |
Stephen would love to meet you! Let's get started. |
