If you love the sound of the Irish tin whistle and you'd like to give it a try, or if you've dabbled a little and want to get a better understanding of this small but mighty instrument then this beginner workshop is for you! Workshop classes will focus on introducing the basics of technique, the role and use of the whistle, and an introduction to Irish music more generally. Get ready to jig and reel! James Stockton - InstructorJames has been playing the tin whistle for nearly 25 years. He was a member of the Kitchener-Waterloo based Celtic group "The Gaes" and was a regular feature player with the band "Failte" for many years. He has toured the province in the pub and festival circuits playing whistle and bagpipes, and can be heard on recordings by Failte, Cambridge folk singer Brian Crozier, and with the Paris Port Dover Pipe Band's Lighthouse show/album. He is the owner of the Sound Factory Music School.
